What Makes OpticalBackup different?
The best of both worlds: Combining cloud and optical disk backup for true data security.
Immutable & Reliable
Your data remains untouched: no tampering, no risk, fully compliant with the highest security standards.
Sustainable
Eco-friendly long-term storage with near-zero energy consumption.
Protection for Decades
Future-proof backup: data preserved for decades (or even centuries) safe from digital attacks.
The Missing Piece in Your Backup Strategy:
offline, immutable, and built to last.
Without OpticalBackup, your 3-2-1 plan is incomplete!
Most backups break the 3-2-1 rule by relying only on cloud or disks, leaving data exposed to ransomware, insider threats, or failures. OpticalBackup adds the offline, immutable, non-magnetic layer your setup needs for true 3-2-1 compliance.

What is OpticalBackup?
OpticalBackup revolutionizes data archiving by leveraging optical disk technology through a secure and scalable cloud service. Unlike traditional cloud backups, our solution offers the added advantages of true data immutability, meaning once data is written, it cannot be changed or deleted. This ensures long-term durability, unmatched security, and sustainability for your backups, making OpticalBackup a reliable choice for both personal and enterprise needs.
Who can use OpticalBackup?
OpticalBackup is designed for everyone—from individuals needing secure personal backups to enterprises with large-scale data protection requirements. Our service seamlessly adapts to different scales, ensuring that whether you’re storing a few gigabytes or managing terabytes of critical data, OpticalBackup can meet your needs without compromising on security or usability.
How does OpticalBackup protect my data?
OpticalBackup guarantees the highest level of data protection by using optical disks, which provide true data immutability. This means your data, once written, cannot be modified, deleted, or tampered with in any way. Additionally, we implement cutting-edge encryption protocols for both data in transit and at rest, safeguarding your data from cyber threats and ensuring no unauthorized access, even during transfer.
What is a container?
A container acts like a virtual file cabinet where you organize your data for a particular backup session. Once you create and name a container, you can upload the files you wish to back up. When you close the container, you’re essentially instructing us to start the optical disk recording process. This organizational approach ensures that your data is properly labeled and securely archived.
How many GB can I upload?
While there’s no limit on the number of files you can upload to OpticalBackup, each file you upload must not exceed 25025314816 bytes (or 23.31 GB or 23808 MB). This allows for extensive data uploads across various file types, ensuring that your backup process remains smooth and scalable for any project size.
What is the maximum single file size I can upload?
The maximum size for a single file upload is currently 25025314816 bytes (or 23.31 GB or 23808 MB). This limit applies to individual files, but you are free to upload multiple files of varying sizes within your container, making it easy to back up large amounts of data.
How much does it cost to use your service?
OpticalBackup offers affordable subscription plans, with pricing based on the services you use. We charge for recording, storage, recovery, and shipping services, all tailored to your specific needs. We offer pre-designed subscription plans that provide various benefits and features at fixed rates. However, if you require something more customized, you can request a tailored plan that suits your organization’s requirements.
Why do I need to close a container?
Closing a container signals to OpticalBackup that your files are ready to be recorded onto an optical disk. This step ensures that all your data is properly archived in an immutable format, meaning it becomes secure and unchangeable once the recording process is complete.
What happens after I close a container?
After you close a container, we initiate the process of recording your data onto a physical optical disk. Depending on your priority level and the current load at our datacenter, this can take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours. Once completed, we will notify you, ensuring that your data has been safely archived and stored.
What happens to my data if my subscription ends?
If your subscription ends, your data will be marked for future deletion. This is an irreversible process, so it’s important to maintain an active subscription if you wish to retain access to your backups. You will be notified before any data destruction occurs, giving you the opportunity to renew or retrieve your files.
